Description
The Project
For a short documentary series we will travel this summer (from 20th to 29th of July) by car along all the geographical points of the European Union: five old centers, one current center and one future center. The French scientist Jean-Georges Affholder has calculated exactly where these points are situated, they are all located in small villages in France, Belgium and Germany. With the addition and currently first time removal (Brexit) of EU countries, the geographical center has constantly shifted since the Single European Act (1987).
These seemingly irrelevant villages were all temporarily the center of the gigantic European project. A road trip along these villages offers a great opportunity to capture a changing Europe. Through personal stories we will address themes that have always played an important role since the founding of the EU, such as migration, the migration from the countryside to the city, and war and peace.
Why do we need funding
As we are two independent filmmakers, we depend on our own funding, sponsors, and the goodwill of people. In order to make our documentary as good as possible we depend on your help! We will use the funding for the research, production and post-production.
